Lymphatic drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a massage technique that stimulates the circulation of lymph. It is used for medical or aesthetic purposes. This method is based on slow and gentle movements, carried out in the direction of lymphatic circulation with variations in pressure.
It’s a series of slow, gentle movements, similar to the effect of a wave, that create a “pumping” effect. The goal is to drain excess fluids present in the tissues and improve lymphatic circulation.
This massage stimulates the lymphatic system so that it normally carries out its purification functions: it involves activating the vessels and draining the lymph nodes located particularly in the neck, armpits, groin and back. 'abdomen.
The role of lymph
Lymph is a colorless liquid, similar in composition to blood plasma, and transported in the lymphatic vessels. It is involved in purifying toxins from the body and fighting infections. Along the vessels are lymph nodes, which function to filter lymph, eliminate debris and trigger immune defense reactions.

A lack of lymph circulation can lead to various disorders, such as heavy legs, cellulite, extra pounds, edema, premature aging or even swelling (lymphedema). A sedentary lifestyle is a common cause of poor circulation. It is also common to have edema after surgery for cancer.
